Small Capital Grants Scheme Funding 2026/27

Please note that there are significant changes to the application process in this financial year, as detailed below:

Applications are invited on a first-come, first-served basis until 1^st December 2026 or until all funds have been awarded, whichever comes first.
Applications can include requests for works and equipment on the same application form.
IT equipment and vehicles will not be eligible for funding (except for newly registered providers).
Contractor quotes must be uploaded with your form in order to submit your application.
The Welsh Government maximum threshold of funding for childminders will be £7,500.00.

All CIW-registered childcare providers are eligible to apply if they have already received the Childcare Offer Small Grant Scheme in previous years.

Panels will be held on the dates below. To ensure timely processing of your application and supporting documents, and to allow sufficient time to address any queries, please submit your application and all supporting documents no later than one week prior to the panel date.

I am prepared to commit to offering childcare for a minimum of 5 years from the date of payment and acknowledge that if I stop offering childcare places or accept privately fee-paying children over those receiving Welsh Government funded childcare, then I will be required to repay all or part of the grant funding.

5. If I am not a registered Setting upon submitting this application, I will become registered as soon as possible and update the Small Capital Grant Team to let them know I have registered. I understand that failure to become registered will result in any funding being reclaimed.
