BABY MASSAGE

  • Our Support workers offer FREE 4 week Baby Massage Courses to new parents in the Gwendraeth Valley.
  • Baby Massage is a great opportunity to bond with your baby, as well as helping to promote better sleep and ease colic and constipation.
  • The course is suitable for babies from birth. Times and days vary, so ask your Health Visitor for more information, they can refer you for the course.

  • Tumble Family Centre are based in the heart of Tumble and provide FREE provision and support for families in the area from pregnancy to toddlers

Young Parents Under 26 Project

  • Plant Dewi Young Parents project runs FREE groups specifically for parents under 26. Carys and Vicky run the project and it’s a great way to make new friends, while having fun and learning new skills.

FAMILIES TOGETHER

  • Families Together sessions are FREE Stay and Play sessions for you and your child(ren).  They give you an opportunity to meet other parents, for your children to play, enjoy fun activities and craft.

TI A FI GROUPS

  • Ti a Fi (You and Me) groups are sessions for you and our child, they are run by Mudiad Meithrin and offer a great opportunity for you and your baby to meet others, play, and socialise in an informal Welsh atmosphere .  There is a charge for these groups.

CYLCH MEITHRIN

  • Cylch Meithrin may be your child’s first opportunity to attend a setting alone.  The groups aim to promote the education and development of children from 2 years to School age.  Children have the opportunity to be with other children and to learn through play predominantly in the Welsh Language. Some groups are open five days a week, others only on some days. When your child is given a place it is normally for a set number of days per week, which will vary depending on your needs and the spaces available.  Price varies from group to group.  Some Groups have registered with the Childcare Offer Wales, it’s worth checking.
  • These groups are very popular, so make sure to contact the leader early in order to book a space for your child.

The Childcare Offer Wales

What is the Childcare Offer?

  • Welsh Government recognises that affordable, available, and accessible childcare enables parents to work, supporting its drive to increase economic growth, tackle poverty and reduce inequalities.
  • The Childcare Offer provides 30 hours a week of funded Foundation Phase Nursery (FPN) early education and childcare for eligible working parents of three and four-year-olds for up to 48 weeks of the year.
  • As the Childcare Offer for Wales is a combined offer, made up of FPN education and childcare provision, children must be of an age to be eligible to access both these elements at the same time.
  • The offer is a maximum of 30 hours of combined education and childcare.  If parental eligibility has been established, children will usually receive the childcare element of the offer from the term after their third birthday, until they are offered a fulltime education place.
