Don’t Dad Alone

This group is for dads and other male caregivers. You’ll meet with people who work with Flying Start as well as special guests. We will discuss things like:

• Speech and development
• Mental health and wellbeing
• Child first aid
• How to look after yourself

This is a safe and relaxed group

Baby Massage and Yoga​

This group is for parents with babies who are 8 weeks old or older. Over 6 sessions, you will learn how to:

• Relax with your baby
• Give your baby a basic massage
• Help your baby sleep, and ease colic and wind
• Soothe your baby

Peek a Boo!

A new group for parents and babies under 6 months old. In 6 sessions, you will learn how your baby communicates their likes and dislikes. We will use music, songs, movement, bubbles, and books to help connect with your baby and have some quality fun together. You’ll also meet other parents and carers.

Developing Minds​

This group is for parents who have questions like:

• “Why does my child do that?”
• “How do children learn by playing?”
• “What’s attachment all about?”
• “Why can’t they just behave?”
• “What about me?”
• “Is this normal?”

Parents Plus Early Years

This course is for parents of children aged 1 to 6, including those with additional needs. It’s a practical, positive course that helps you:

• Build strong relationships with your child
• Handle tantrums and meltdowns
• Improve communications and learning
• Solve problems
• Reduce your own stress
• Help your child feel good about themselves
• Create good daily routines

Family Links Nurturing Programme

Over 10 sessions, this group will help you understand and manage your feelings and your child’s behaviour in a positive way.

Over 4 sessions, you will learn how to handle the challenges of raising children so that you can have a calmer, happier life.

Family Links Playful Parenting

In 2 sessions, you’ll learn how important play is for your child’s development. You’ll find out about different types of play and how to create fun playtime with your child.

Little People Big Steps

This group is for parents whose children are about to start school or childcare. In 4 sessions, we will talk about how to get your child ready for this big milestone.

Parents Plus Healthy Families​

Over 8 sessions, this group covers topics that are important for modern family life. We’ll talk about routines, screen time, mealtimes, exercise, and sleep. We’ll give you tools to handle these topics in a positive and real way.

Discovering you child’s World

This group is for parents and carers to better understand their child’s world. We’ll talk about:

• Looking after yourself
• Sleep
• Senses
• Speech and language
• Play
• Development and behaviour

SPACE (Supporting Parents and Children Emotionally)

Over 6 sessions, this group will help you learn about your own stress and emotions. You’ll learn how to deal with your feelings and help your children with theirs. We’ll also talk about how to be strong and bounce back from challenges.

STEPS​

Over 12 sessions, this course will help you understand how your mind works and how your beliefs change your behaviour. We will use psychology to help you think differently about parenting and any goals you have in any area of your life.

Parents as Partners

In 16 sessions, this group will help you improve your relationship with your child’s other parent and manage stress. This will help your child’s wellbeing and success.
