Expectant parents, parents, carers and families have access to a variety of services from conception to when a child is 7 years old and beyond. Here is your journey from pregnancy through the early years of your child’s life.
At any point in your journey through parenthood, even as early as when you find out you are pregnant, the Family Information Service offers you a one-stop information point. Here you will find information on services and activities you may want or need to access.

If you are trying to get pregnant or are already pregnant there is a wealth of information, advice and support available to you. During your pregnancy and for a short period following the birth you will have regular contact with your midwife. This may also be the time to start considering your childcare options if you intend returning to work
Shortly after the birth of your baby you will be transferred from the care of your Midwife to the Health visitor. You will have contact with your Health Visitor up until your child reaches school age.
When your child starts school they will then have access to the School Nursing service throughout their journey through education
Once your child is in school there are services available that may be helpful to you
Entering parenthood and being a parent can be a challenging time, but there are services available to you to help and guide you through some of these challenges.
From conception through the early years of your child's life and beyond you will have continued access to healthcare for yours and your child's needs
