Home Start Carmarthenshire

Being a parent, whatever your situation, can be very challenging, especially when children are young.  For some parents it’s a particular struggle because they are also coping with issues such as post-natal depression, their or their child’s illness or disability, isolation or multiple births.

Home-Start Carmarthenshire trains and supports carefully selected volunteers with parenting experience, who can visit regularly and offer emotional and practical support in family homes.

Home-Start may be able to help you by offering you a volunteer if you:

  • live in the Carmarthenshire area.
  • have one or more children under the age of 16
  • are in need of a little extra help

Help from volunteers may include sharing parenting skills, setting routines and boundaries with children as well as encouraging play, reading and homework.

If you are a parent looking for support, you can phone Home Start on 01269 593853 or use Contact Us for a form.

The form is simple; you can complete it yourself but please phone if you need help with this or ask someone else such as your GP or Health Visitor to do it for you.

‘I am emailing you about your FIS webpage, I just wanted to say thank you, I found it really useful as I was searching for ways to keep children safe online'.
